Our Mission
Sharon Towers is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Our mission is to provide secure independent living in an atmosphere of Christian love for persons age 60 and older. In order to enhance residents quality of life and their personal, physical and spiritual development, Sharon Towers serves residents needs for continuity of care, attractive surroundings and competent staffing.
Residents come from many walks of life and varying faith traditions, live in a family atmosphere, and are encouraged to serve one another and the wider community. Qualified financial assistance is available as needed in the changing circumstances of residents lives.
Our History
In 1962 a dedicated group of Presbyterian leaders recognized the need for a church-sponsored retirement home in the area. Through their tireless efforts, this group opened the doors to Sharon Towers in 1969. In the beginning the campus had just the East residential tower, dining room and a small Health Care Center. Through the decades, Sharon Towers flourished and grew, providing more residential units and additional health care beds. Within the last five years, two terrace apartment buildings and an Aquatics Center have been added. Our Cottage Renewal Program began in 2004.
Admissions Process
Sharon Towers maintains a waiting list for future residency. The length of time one must wait for an accommodation will vary. Once an accommodation is offered, a deposit is required to reserve the unit and ready it for occupancy. The remainder of an entry fee is payable upon admission, based upon the type of accommodation and the number of occupants. In addition to the entry fee, each resident must pay a monthly service fee, which will be based upon the type of living accommodation, the number of persons occupying it, and the meal plan selected.
